Hello Halo fans,

Tomorrow (10th September 2010) at 8pm GMT, to celebrate the release of Halo: Reach, 'Team Grim' will be taking on an epic 'Haloathon' in an attempt to raise money for the charity 'Child's Play'.

We shall be playing through all games in the series to completion, back-to-back, no breaks, no sleep, finally finishing with Halo: Reach on its release date this Tuesday. We're talking around 100 hours of non-stop Halo action, all streamed live.
As well as this, we shall be giving out plenty of Halo goodies to donators and tweeters and all viewers will have the chance of taking part in live XBox Live multiplayer games and Vidmaster challenges throughout the marathon.

So please stop by any time you can and help support a charity who do some amazing work. More information can be found on them, us and details of the marathon at our site:

the last one, before the big one...

On the fine night of Friday the 10th, HaloReachforum will be hosting its final Halo 3 social. I invite you all to come and join us for a night of Halo fun, starting at 6 pm ET, and continuing until 10 pm. Of course, this will be the last one before the Big one (halo:reach, if you hadn't guessed already) and I'm hoping it will be a good one.
I invite you all to post suggestion below for maps/gametypes, and please try and think, over your whole halo playing career, when have you had the most fun? We want to make this night a night of remembering how much fun we had (sometimes...).

How this package works: (be sure to read before downloading!)

• This is a bittorrent release, meaning you must use a torrent client. If you're on windows, I highly recommend uTorrent. Mac users can take a pick of uTorrent Mac or Transmission. If you're on linux, grab rtorrent (rutorrent for your webui!).
  
• Please seed this for as long as you can. Even if you download just a couple videos, please keep this in your torrent client as long as you can. If everyone removed it the day after it finished downloading, this project would die out almost instantly; and that can't happen. So please, leave it seeding as long as humanly possible; even if it's not uploading anything.
  
• Even though we have over 2000mbps of bandwidth from the multiple people that will be seeding, because most of this is located in Europe, download speeds may not be ideal; at least until the swarm size increases. So please bear with us. If you choose to download an entire games worth of videos, it will take many hours, or days, to complete.
  
• Every now and then, a project releases their videos in 1080P. Because of this preference, I've included "optional 1080P" folders for every video that counts. There will be the normal 720P version, and inside this folder, will be an identical 1080P version of that same video. Simply check the 1080P folder if you want to download these ultra-high quality versions. Each game has their own 1080P folder.
  
• Last but not least, ENABLE PROTOCOL ENCRYPTION! I've had tests where people have had problems downloading this torrent (due to ISP throttling or other factors), and enabling encryption made them download much, much quicker! This guide, while outdated (your client will look different than the pictures, still is a good tutorial. If you still can't figure it out, Google "enable encryption x" where "x" is the client you're using.

During the beta, I was playing a match of slayer with the jet pack, raining down death on all beneath me. An enemy player decides to fly up to take me out, and unfortunately for him, finds out what my secondweaponis the hard way. As he and I are flying towards each other, I pull out my gravity hammer. At this point, he knows there is nowhere he can run because he had begun his descent and his jet pack wasn't mobile enough to move him out of my path. As my hammer comes crashing down on his skull, his body plummets straight to the canal beneath me in a grand splash. Quick and brutal.
